Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Peeky ("Peeky," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Peeky mobile application (the "App"). We built Peeky to be private by design: you do not need to create an account, and the photos you search are not kept after your search is complete. By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
Photos you search
When you run a search, the photo you choose is uploaded to our servers and processed by trusted reverse-image-search providers solely to find matching results. We do not use your photos to identify you, and the uploaded photo is deleted promptly after the search completes. We do not use your photos to build a face database or for any purpose other than returning your search results.
Search results & history
The results of your searches (such as matching links and the platforms they came from) are saved to your private search history so you can revisit them in the App. The face image you searched with is stored only on your device to display alongside that history entry.
Anonymous identifier
The App signs you in anonymously (via Firebase Authentication) and assigns a random identifier so we can associate your searches and usage limits with your installation. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or other directly identifying information unless you provide it to us (for example, by contacting support).
Purchase information
If you buy a subscription or credits, the purchase is processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage and validate subscription status. We receive transaction and entitlement details (such as whether you have an active subscription) but never your full payment card details.
Usage, diagnostics & attribution
We collect limited analytics and crash diagnostics (via Google Firebase) to understand how the App is used and to fix problems. We also use a mobile measurement partner (Tenjin) to understand which marketing campaigns lead people to install Peeky. Depending on your permissions, this may include device identifiers, advertising identifiers, approximate usage events, and app install/open events.
Support messages
If you contact us through the App, we collect the email address and message you provide so we can respond and provide support.
2. How We Use Information
- To perform reverse image searches and return your results;
- To save and display your search history;
- To enforce search limits and provide subscription features;
- To operate, maintain, and improve the App and fix bugs;
- To measure marketing performance and understand acquisition;
- To respond to your support requests;
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues;
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. App Tracking Transparency
On iOS, we ask for your permission before tracking you across apps and websites owned by other companies (Apple's App Tracking Transparency). If you decline, we do not access your device's advertising identifier for cross-app tracking. You can change this anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on your device.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us operate the App, including:
- Reverse-image-search providers — to process your photo and return matches;
- Google Firebase — anonymous authentication, analytics, and crash reporting;
- Apple — to process in-app purchases and subscriptions;
- RevenueCat — to manage and validate purchases;
- Tenjin — for install attribution and marketing measurement;
- Cloud hosting providers — to run our servers and database.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users or others.
5. Data Retention
Uploaded photos are deleted promptly after a search completes. Search results in your history and your anonymous identifier are retained for as long as your installation is active or as needed to provide the service, and are deleted on request. Diagnostic and analytics data are retained according to our providers' standard retention periods.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
Peeky is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. Because Peeky is designed to be used without an account, please include enough detail for us to locate the relevant data.
9. International Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where data protection laws may differ. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may be highlighted within the App.
11. Contact Us
